You want to reward your employees, but maybe you don’t know how. What do you do when your employees are doing a great job? Maybe you’ve just finished a special project or earnings were up for a quarter. How do you say thank you to your employees and this will incentivize them to continue to do that good work?

Well, a lot of people try to find rewards that they can give. It can get tricky though because not all organizations have the ability to put everyone on a plane and take them to Maui. That would be fantastic. Might break your budget.

For some organizations it can be spontaneous food. You get the good bagels, you get the nice coffee, put it in the break room a few times. Employees will be very appreciative. It’s about the gesture.

In some organizations, when, it’s the eve of a holiday, so just you know, Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving eve, sometimes they’ll close up, shop noon, 1:00, 2:00. Let the employees go home for the rest of the day.

They’ll be paid as if it’s a full day. Usually that time is relatively slow. So by giving them the time off, you get the gesture of being a thoughtful leader, but you don’t have to pay that much for the time. You’re not losing that much.

For some organizations, it’s about clothes. They’ll do things like have casual Friday. See if a company goal is achieved.

Of course you want to make sure you define a tire what’s appropriate and not appropriate. You don’t want people to guess and guess wrong because that can be embarrassing for all.
Having these little reward should help energize and focus a team and make them share in the pride of achieving something big.
