Can your important processes survive the unexpected. Unexpected things are gonna happen to your team. A spouse gets a job in another town, forcing the employee to move.

An employee’s family member may get sick, forcing them to take care of them.

These things happen and they are understandable but how do they affect your daily processes because a lot of organizations there is one person, who knows how to do certain things.

That’s dangerous because it leaves you vulnerable when the unexpected happens. How can you prepare for this?

Make sure there are periodic trainings, where the person’s backup is given a refresher on what has to happen.

You want to make sure too that information on certain processes… just make sure wherever it is can be found quickly. Let’s say in a manual, online because usually people are looking for it when they’re in a panic.

Do this type of training periodically. It’s an investment in the future and it prevents you from being vulnerable when the unexpected happens.
