I’m not surprised but I wish I was! Scam artists and spammers are using the Olympics as a way to steal from others.
Beware if you receive any emails about entering into an Olympic Lottery, offers of great jobs in London during the games, or other prizes that seem to be from legitimate sources. So far, about 70 websites have been found to be selling bogus tickets to the events.
Don’t share your personal information with anything that seems to be associated with the Olympics until you’ve had a chance to verify that the offer is legit. Online scumbags may also use photos or videos related to the sporting event as a trojan horse for computer viruses.
While I’m not a violent person, I’d love to figure out how to put super glue on these criminals’ computer keyboards. It’s a shame that the Olympics, the embodiment of dreams coming true, will turn into a nightmare for the gullible and the unsuspecting.
